A graduate of The Glenn Gould School’s Rebanks Fellowship Program, Alexander also holds both a Bachelor of Music degree and Artist Diploma from The Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School and studied under Professor James Anagnoson, with a full Ihnatowycz scholarship. The winner of numerous top prizes in national and international piano competitions, he is the only Canadian to have received First Prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition in Japan, and previously won Grand Prizes for Solo and Concerto Performances at the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati and Second Prize and Special Award for Solo Performance at the Corpus Christi International Piano and Strings Competition. He won the First Prize in the 4th Canadian Chopin Piano Competition in 2014, and in 2015 was awarded a prestigious Sylva Gelber Award as well as First Prize in The Glenn Gould School Chamber Music Competition as part of The Ruby Trio.
Alex has performed at Music Niagara, Toronto Summer Music festival,Music at Westben, the Banff Centre, and the Beethoven piano concerto no. 2 as part of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. He performed at the National Arts Center in Ottawa, as well as the Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut in Heidelberg, Germany in 2009, and In 2011, along with Cecelia String Quartet, was a Stockey Young Artist at Festival of the Sound. After competing in and winning the Tom Thomas Toronto Symphony Orchestra competition, Alexander joined Peter Oundjian and the TSO as part of their Masterworks series with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Later that year, as an exchange between The Royal Conservatory and the Liszt Academy, he embarked on a three-concert tour in Hungary. In November of 2015, he performed with the Toronto Symphony giving a vivid performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Roy Thomson Hall. In 2016 Alex partnered with Stanislav Pronin for a Music in the Morning recital presenting Prokofiev's Violin sonata in Vancouver Canada.
Approaching his teenage years, Alexander was accepted as a student under Marietta Orlov at the Young Artists Performance Academy. During this time, Alex competed in Canadian Music Competitions, Gina Bachaur International Piano Competition, and the 6th Hamamatsu Piano Competition. He also completed his ARCT in piano performance, before being accepted with pedagogue Marc Widner. At the age of 16, Seredenko began tutelage under pianist Valerie Tryon, and competed in the Scottish International Piano Competition.
